As part of the Federal Ministry of Health support for Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) to improve quality and access of healthcare to all Nigerians; the FMOH, in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation – Health in Africa (HIA), and the Anadach Group organized a health PPP workshop. The workshop brought together government officials responsible for managing and regulating such partnerships, private sector entities currently involved or interested in such partnerships and other stakeholders who are interested in encouraging PPPs. Ghana’s National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has received wide recognition as a promising model for social protection. As part of the commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the NHIS,an International Conference organized by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) took place in Accra, Ghana, between 4th and 6th November 2013 under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and the Government of Ghana. This concept note provided an overview of the Conference to be held under the theme : “Towards Universal Health Coverage: Increasing Enrolment Whilst Ensuring Sustainability” The Conference provided a forum for engaging UHC practitioners, academia, policy makers, international organizations and civil society, both local and international, to examine the NHIS's successes and challenges and to elicit feedback for reform that would not only be relevant for Ghana but also other countries which, like Ghana, are confronted with policy and implementation challenges in financing healthcare as part of their broader UHC goals. It also provided an opportunity to discuss topics that are critical for the attainment of UHC. West African Health Expo 2013 was an international Exhibition focusing on medical equipment, scientific and laboratory instruments, hospital furniture, pharmaceutical products and services to be hosted by Global Resources & Projects Nig. Ltd at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos Nigeria. It builded on the success of West African Health 2012, which attracted over 250 exhibitors including international manufacturers and traders interested in the African market.
Anadach would be partnering with the Expo to organize an educational component, which would include continuous professional development programs in cardiology, pediatrics and nursing/midwifery which are accredited by the relevant Nigerian authorities. Medipharma Africa - Ghana 2013 was a huge success. Medipharma Africa brought together more than 1000 health care practitioners from Ghana, Nigeria and other African and European countries. The conference was a huge success with lively discussions led by Dr. Alfred Tia-Sugri, the Deputy Minister of Health. The Hon Minister of Health, Nigeria, was represented by the Chief Pharmacist of Nigeria. Other key speakers at the event included Dr Leke Pitan of the International Hospital Federation and Dr Ashifi Gogo of Sproxil.
The accredited continuous professional development sessions were very well attended. They were facilitated by world class experts including Dr Yemi Johnson of First Cardiology Consultants, Dr Lawrence Sereboe of Korle Bu Hospital, Dr Ekuase Sanusi of Pediatric Partners, Dr Juliet Tuakli of Child and Associates, Dr Ebenezer Appiah-Denkyira - Director General of the Ghana Health Service Commission, Dr Gilbert Buckle- Executive Director of the Christian Health Association and Mr Sam Quarshie, Head of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department of the Ghana Health service.
In March, Anadach Group worked with Aureos Capital to organize a road show events in Lagos and Abuja to reach out to Nigerian firms in the healthcare or pharmaceutical or related industries. Some firms already expressed their stronge interests in exploring private equity financing opportunity. Anadach organized NNPC Healthcare management training to improve clinical governance for the Medical Services Division of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation which was held at Reiz Continental Hotel, Abuja from December 10th to 14th, 2012.
The Group General Manager Medical formally opened the event and spoke about the role of Improved Clinical Governance in NNPC. We had 10 sessions within the five days period which dealt with various aspects of strategic decision making to improve Clinical Governance and Quality.

Anadach Consulting Group, in collaboration with Kenya Government and TeleHealth Kenya co-hosted e-Health Africa Conference which was held in Nairobi, Kenya on April 18, 19 2012. e-Health Africa Conference 2012: Integrating M-health into E-Health Strategy Implementation was the first multi-stakeholder event focusing on e-Health in Africa that will take place on the continent.
The conference provided a platform to facilitate the implementation of Kenya's new eHealth strategy by bringing together key stakeholders from Kenya and around the world who are working in health care, telecommunications, ICT, finance, academia, and the development sectors to share knowledge, exchange ideas, discuss innovative and emerging solutions and develop collaborations. At the same time, it promoted knowledge exchange with other countries that have developed national eHealth strategies (such as Tanzania and Rwanda), and with others who are in the process of or thinking about developing such strategies.

Anadach organized a webinar which was targeted to address Nigeria's healthcare system.The event was also a follow up to Anadach's successful diaspora reception at the ANPA convention on July 9th 2011 in Chicago. The event attracted a wide audience including health professionals from Africa, US, and UK. Dr. Pate, the Minister of State for Health in Nigeria was invited to speak at the webinar. In his speech, Dr. Pate introduced the current situation of the health sector in Nigeria, visualized the future and elaborated on the measures the government will take to solve the existing issues. As the respondent, Dr. Nwariaku, the President of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas proposed a sustainable and affordable health public private partnership option in his presentation. In the subsequent Q&A session, Dr. Pate answered various questions from the audience including pre-service education for health professionals in Nigeria, the emigration of qualified health professionals, etc. The discussion was rich and exciting. Anadach will host more webinars to provide opportunities for health professionals from emerging countries to interact and share experiences on a unique platform in the near future.

Anadach co-organized the first multi-stakeholder conference on m-health in Africa in Accra, Ghana, the M-Health Africa Summit. After 3 interesting days in Washington at the CCA conference which discussed a broad range of issues related to the growing private health sector on the continent, Dr. Egbe Osifo-Dawodu crossed to Minneapolis to join an invited panel at the University of Minneapolis. The panel consisting of Mr Kojo Taylor, CEO Microclinics; and Scott Hillstrom, Founder and Chairman of the HealthStore Foundation; and Egbe. The panel, moderated by Dr Jim Rice, Executive Vice President Integrated Health Strategies, engaged in an interesting conversation on innovative approaches to improving health care in developing countries.

Anadach Group organized a workshop titled “Key Drivers and Challenges to consider in setting up a successful healthcare business in Nigeria and other emerging markets” on July 15th, 2009 the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) Annual convention in Abuja, Nigeria. The workshop session provided information to the aspiring clinician entrepreneur who perhaps having a successful medical career in North America or Europe is considering setting up a viable health care business in Nigeria. At the end of the session, the entrepreneur had an understanding of key issues to consider and resources available to increase chances of success.
