THE 5th EDITION OF THE NIGERIAN HEALTHCARE EXCELLENCE AWARD (NHEA)
The 5th Annual Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award was successfully held in Lagos on
Friday, June 22 nd , 2018 at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island,
Lagos.
The event was a grand ceremony that had various industry players within the Nigerian health sector, public and private medical agencies and government in attendance. The annual event seeks to recognize and honor individuals and organizations that have shown outstanding performances and exceptional service delivery in the healthcare industry. Some of the awardees were; Prof. Fola Tayo, a seasoned Pharmacist and WHO Consultant in anticancer medicines and the review of Nigeria's National Drug Policy, was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award and Prof. Auwal M. Abubakar, Chief Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Yola received the Special Recognition Award. Adamawa State received the award for the Outstanding State Government Healthcare Programme of the Year and DoctorNow received the Award for PharmAccess Innovative Healthcare Service Provider of the Year.
The aim of the recognition and award is to continue to encourage improvements, innovation and focus on quality and standard of service provided by various stakeholders in the industry. The award also seeks to recognize excellence in healthcare delivery and also suggest policy framework for achieving global standards of healthcare across Nigeria while
encouraging market leadership and inspirational performance.
At the ceremony, The Chairman of the Advisory Board, Dr. Anthony Omolola disclosed that the organizers will introduce the West African Healthcare Excellence Award soon which will
span within the West African region and subsequently to the whole of Africa. He also mentioned the decision of the Board to begin Corporate Social Responsibility project with its nominees. The NHEA-Nominees CSR Partnership project will entail working with one or group of nominees to execute community based project to enhance and bring succor to the less privileged in the society.
Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award (NHEA) is an initiative of Global Health Project & Resources in collaboration with Anadach Group, USA. NHEA started in 2014 and has since
become a high profile event in the healthcare industry, gaining wide acceptance from stakeholders in the healthcare community, public and private sectors.
